Wandering
Students may have difficulty staying in their seats all day or may not understand that it is inappropriate to move around the classroom whenever they want. To address wandering issues, consider this:
-Provide opportunites for movement. Keep the kids moving, whether it be from one location in the classroom to another, or by incorporating Brain Gym.
-If a student struggles to remain seated, placed tape around their desk. This "box" provides a space where the student may sit or stand, depending on their preference, but they must remain within the tape.
-Another strategy would be similar to the previous one. Give students the choice to move near their desk, as long as one body part of touching their own desk.
-Incorporate a specific task that wandering students will enjoy. Let them pass out papers or gather materials.
